Welcome friends,

The current wait time for a new sword is 6-7 Months

We have been very busy this last year. We have also made some changes to our swords and our website.

Some of those changes include the following:

  • All swords by default are mechanically peended. If you would like hex nut assembly please ask.

  • we are going to terminate the Tried and True Finish option and release a whole new level of sword finish/upgrade. why? well the simple truth is that taking the finish up a couple steps above the Mercenary Grade is a lot of work for very little return. We have decided that even though there are more hours in the sword the end result isn't enough better to be marketable. any commission that we have as tried and true polish will still be polished up to the higher grit standard but as of Feb 1st the Tried and True polish option will be gone.
We are dedicated to selling the very best performing swords available at a reasonable price. We have each had a driving passion for swords for our entire lives and have spent great deals of personal money and time learning about swords and swordsmanship. We believe that whatever type of sword it is, it should move and cut and thrust in a manner that is appropriate for that type of sword from history, and possess characteristics that would be sought after by the people of history who used swords to fight for their lives. These are the only swords that we desire to either own or to sell. We also desire to sell these swords for the reasonable sort of prices we would want to buy them at. If we, as sword lovers of moderate means, would not want to buy the sword for what it is at the price we can offer it then we will not sell that sword. We have always been picky, demanding customers and we will remain picky and demanding of the quality of the swords we sell. We will only sell swords from craftsmen whose products we have personal experience with and whom we know we can trust to make good swords at reasonable prices. We will take care of our customers and make sure they get a sword they can love at a price they can like.

Due to our very demanding nature, we are starting Tried and True Armory with only one craftsman as our supplier of swords: Angus "Gus" Trim. ATrim swords, from our personal experience, move and cut and thrust as well or better than any sword made on earth today. Gus has studied antique swords and has a large library of detailed measurements and commentary on antique swords of great variety from which he draws his inspirations. Gus is also a machinist who builds his swords with the sort of precision that only a machinist and engineer can attain. And Gus is a martial artist with thousands of hours of practice, fencing, sparring, and training behind him. Gus' unique Academic, Engineering, and practical, understanding of swords enables him to make swords that perform to a level that is unrivaled in today's world. We have a personal relationship with Gus and so have had the opportunity to really get to know our craftsman. We not only trust him to make the kind of swords we personally love but we have personally handled and used enough of his swords that we can honestly call his swords Tried and True
